More Than 1,000 Dead, 4,000 Missing in Nepal Flood Disaster
On 26th August, Nepal hit by a massive flood following a collapsed glacier in the Himalayas. This natural disaster has been killed over 1000 people, with nearly 4,000 still missing. Due to the high number of victims and lack of storage facilities, authorities are taking DNA samples from unidentified bodies and burying them in mass graves instead of performing traditional individual Hindu cremations. Prime Minister Balendra Shah described the event as an unimaginable catastrophe, while rescue teams continue searching for missing people.
